Synopsis

XML is one of the newer programming languages.  It is quickly gaining respect as a replacement for the HTML language and many people think that it will eventually replace HTML altogether.

Review

The first few pages go into a quick explanation about XML terminology and the subject of unlearning bad habits.  As we all know it's easy to pick up things that aren't really of much use to us at some time in the future.  The follow up is a simple XML document explained in easy to understand terms and then the XML reference gives a very good introduction to XML methods.  Finally the Xlink and Xpointer are explained.  Both of these are part of the XLL which is to do with XML links.

It's true that the pocket reference series is a bit short on pages but there are a lot of things in XML Pocket Reference that aren't generally known about.

Well worth buying for yourself or for someone else.
