Review

This particular volume is a good example of how Prentice-Hall have set out to give a full range of literature that will give the reader an insight into the world of Linux.  There is a CD included with the book which offers Caldera Openlinux Lite.  With the recent releases of KDE 2.1 and Ximian GNOME 1.4 it is beginning to fall behind with the times.  However, the guts of the Linux operating system are explained and so it is still relevant.

The Linux System Administration Handbook is pretty much a standard guide to how to use Linux on your desktop and also as the general network administration tool for which is originally produced.  If you haven't yet bought or read a book about Linux and you think that you should then this might well be the time to do it.
