March Meeting
Our March meeting was a comfortable international affair which went down well with the six people who turned up. Paul Sims set up FreeBSD and then we had a go at the BeOS PC between us. The predicted lack of drivers proved to be too much to cope with for all of us (three other people had a go as well). So we gave up on BeOS and installed SuSE Cebit 2000 edition instead.
Matthew finally turned up and we were treated
to the sort of lecture about networking and DNS that only the privileged
few will ever see. In fact, we all wondered where the rest of the
crowd was ? There are thousands of people out there who would like
to attend this kind of lecture. If you want to see Matthew's lecture
notes then please do have a look at.......

As Matthew explains on his web site, it's
best viewed with a brain (that means he support any browser).
We all enjoyed the meeting and we are looking forward to the next one. Afterwards we went along to the Hallamshire Hotel for a pint of beer followed by a walk along West Street the others (pubs and pints). Pleasant meeting but one that didn't suit every one of us ?
Since Matt gave us his first talk things have moved on a bit and he has also done a talk at Manlug in Manchester about the use of Linux in networks. Lets hope that he gets lots of help when he goes home for the support that he has given us ?
