The Winter meetings seem to have kind of graduated towards a pleasant chat in a local hostelry over a few hot laptops and PDA's.  Everyone says that they like these sessions and so we'll probably continue to do them.

Both January and February turned out to be the promised dismal winter months that most of us are used to.  Although, this year we didn't get great big piles of snow as we do in other years.  A mild winter but still the time of year when we retire to the pub to forget all else.  A few sunny days.  Some of us turned up for the usual chat at the January meeting about all things related to computers and the internet.  Mostly aimed at GNU/Linux and BSD.  A good time was had by all and we look forward to more of them.

The February meeting nearly didn't take place.  It's usually the time when we go out for dinner.  This year it's been four years since we got started in our present form.  Always a good reason to have a few drinks and a few laughs together.  Quite a few people said that they liked the Trattoria Sorrento at Northfield Road Crookes last time and so we went over there.  About eight of us turned up for a good night out.  I tucked in to Luigis King Prawns which are excellent and everyone else tried out the other dishes.  Much comment about nice food was heard.

We now look forward to March which promises to be a good month.  We will have our annual GNU/Linux seminar on the 4th of March and our monthly meeting is the week after that.   Hope we see you there.
