The Sheffield Linux User's Group was set up to help to promote GNU/Linux and BSD software and to assist those people who are interested in related issues. Many long distance discussions have taken place about Open Source and Free software at our meetings and through our discussion list since 1999 which is the year that we came into existence. Technical support in the form of e-mail or verbal advice is free and has been available to anyone for more than five years. Low cost CDs and boot disks are also available. Books and other help can also be provided.
Our monthly meetings are either formal or informal. Some
idea of numbers that might turn up are usually found through the amount
of e-mail that is presently circulating. If this doesn't help send
e-mail to enquiries at sheflug dot org dot uk
to get in touch with the organiser.
Any constructive comments or help for other people is greatly
appreciated. Many people have thanked us for our assistance over
the years. If you wish to pass some info on to the group then it's best to subscribe yourself to the Sheflug discussion list . Click on the Phorum link for that. If you wish to provide support for a particular application this would provide a good deal of help for everyone.
